Mayflower Serendipity Volunteers Information and Awareness Event - 19th November 2019

We are really pleased to announce that two of our Serendipity group volunteers, Daniel Geddes and Pip Diaper, who run the Mayflower Group held an Autism Information and Awareness event on the 19th November.

The event was attended by other Serendipity social group members, Autism Ambassadors, professionals from other agencies and organisations, as well as Autism Hampshire staff.

Daniel and Pip were joined by Su Seymour to give short presentations about their experiences accessing social groups and supported reflection on what works well for people on the spectrum.

Viv Chalice from the Mayflower Theatre provided information about the initiatives that the Mayflower are working on to be more accessible to people on the Autism Spectrum.

Debra Harrison-Sales (CEO), Kathryn Cornish (Project Officer), and Laura Harman (Senior Manager Community Partnership) gave short presentations about the Serendipity Social Groups and other projects which Autism Hampshire have been working on to address isolation and increase socialisation and community connectivity.

Autism Hampshire would like to thank everyone who came along to the event and helped to make it such a valuable and informative event.

We especially want to thank Dan and Pip for hosting such a successful event and the Mayflower for being so proactive in their Accessibility Project and allowing us to hold this event and our meetings at their facility.
