Mayflower Serendipity Volunteers Information and Awareness
Event - 19th November 2019
We are really pleased to announce that two of our
Serendipity group volunteers, Daniel Geddes and Pip Diaper, who run the
Mayflower Group held an Autism Information and Awareness event on the 19th
The event was attended by other Serendipity social group
members, Autism Ambassadors, professionals from other agencies and
organisations, as well as Autism Hampshire staff.
Daniel and Pip were joined by Su Seymour to give short
presentations about their experiences accessing social groups and supported
reflection on what works well for people on the spectrum.
Viv Chalice from the Mayflower Theatre provided information
about the initiatives that the Mayflower are working on to be more accessible
to people on the Autism Spectrum.
Debra Harrison-Sales (CEO), Kathryn Cornish (Project
Officer), and Laura Harman (Senior Manager Community Partnership) gave short
presentations about the Serendipity Social Groups and other projects which
Autism Hampshire have been working on to address isolation and increase
socialisation and community connectivity.
Autism Hampshire would like to thank everyone who came along
to the event and helped to make it such a valuable and informative event.
We especially want to thank Dan and Pip for hosting such a
successful event and the Mayflower for being so proactive in their
Accessibility Project and allowing us to hold this event and our meetings at
