For adults with a learning disability
Set up in 2001, Windward has grown from a very small day service for adults who have a learning disability, to 4 centres supporting over 100 people. Windward's focus is aimed towards making sure people will have a good and meaningful day. Phil Bush and Becky Hamilton were both Social Workers in the New Forest Learning Disability team when they decided to provide something which was new and flexible. Now with nearly 30 staff, they provide the same fun and flexible service to many more people. They depend upon the dedication of brilliant staff and the enthusiasm of people who access their service to keep the same vibrant atmosphere they achieved over 10 years ago.
They have 3 criteria for people who wish to use our service: that you are over 18, that you want to come, and that you can get on in a group.
