Every year, we highlight the experiences of autistic people and encourage everyone to learn more, understand more, and take practical steps that support inclusion.
This year, our theme is a call for everyone to play an active role in building a more inclusive world.
Know More. Do More. Be an Ally.
Being an autism ally is not just about awareness. It’s about learning, listening, and taking action that supports autistic people in everyday life.
Throughout Autism Acceptance Month, we’ll be sharing opportunities for our colleagues, our supporters, our local communities, and our partners to get involved and make a difference.
This Autism Acceptance Month, there is an opportunity for everyone to get involved. Our 2026 campaign activities will include:
1. A Day of Purple – 2nd Thursday in April
We will be launching the month with a celebration of colour. Supporters, services, partners, people we support, followers and more will be turning purple to show that they are an autism ally! Could you donate a £1 to wear purple or host a bake off? Every donation makes a difference. Click here to make a donation today.
2. Sensory Experience Activities
To build deeper understanding and stronger allies, we’ll be sharing tools that help people experience aspects of sensory processing differences. This is a chance to learn by experiencing, not just reading.
3. London Marathon Allies
Five incredible runners are taking on the London Marathon in support of Autism Hampshire. Throughout the month, we’ll be sharing their stories, their motivations, and what being an autism ally means to them.
4. Autism‑Inclusive Recruitment
We’re showcasing what an autism‑inclusive recruitment journey looks like - and inspiring others to do the same. From reasonable adjustments to success stories, we're highlighting what can be done to break down barriers for neurodivergent candidates.
Together, we can Know More. Do More. Be an Ally.
